NHS Islington
Islington is a vibrant and diverse inner London borough with a population of approximately 193,000. NHS Islington employs around 900 staff and runs a wide range of community health services in Islington.
Challenge:
NHS Islington has a long term vision to improve the standards of health services they deliver and a key element of this is improving public access to information about healthcare. To ensure the trust could deliver its vision it needed a totally new public website.
Solution:
Sitekit CMS was selected for the new website primarily because of its accessibility compliance and the ease in which NHS Islington could build and manage the site in-house using existing staff skill sets.
The Sitekit CMS Software Development Kit (SDK) was used to integrate the NHS Services directory, which is a fundamental part of the new website It provides much more comprehensive information about local services.

Result
Both organisations were new to Sitekit CMS, however Sitekit's rapid deployment features and excellent on-line docuemntation enabled the website to be built to a very high standard, in a short amount of time, with very little support and no training.
The website achieved The World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibilty Initiative (W3CWAI) Level 2 (AA) guidelines.
