Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT ) was one of 23 trusts across Kent, Surrey and Sussex to receive funding put in place by the Government to enable trusts to improve levels of privacy and dignity, a priority set in the NHS 2009/10 operating framework. 1
KMPT used the funding they received to develop an on-line survey portal to measure patient satisfaction levels. Patients take surveys on subjects such as privacy and dignity using touch screen laptops provided during their stay in the hospitals. The results give staff immediate feedback to demonstrate how they are performing and then use results to make further improvements.
Measuring and communicating results is key for NHS trusts demonstrating the quality of care they provide. Applications like Sitekit CMS help trusts get the feedback that performance teams need to improve service and provide an effective way for trusts to demonstrate results.
Adrian Lowther, Head of Communications and Marketing, Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust said “Getting instant feedback about the experiences and views of our patients is vital. The solution we have developed with Sitekit enables us to combine surveying patient using tablet PCs and giving instant online results to our managers. The results can then be utilised in our internal performance monitoring programme as well as being able to be instantly displayed on the website. The next phase of the project will be to have surveys on hand-held devices."
