Sitekit CMS  Directory Module - Delivering Total Control

Sitekit CMS comes with its own generic directories module drawn from our years experience in providing users with the events and directory data they need. The directory module has three main components:

  • Directory entries – the ‘who’
  • Locations – the ‘where’
  • Events – the ‘when’

Directory participants are uploaded into the directory data type, as you’d expect we support 36 core data fields for these entries and provide a facility for adding extra keywords and categories. As well as the expected fields each event can be associated with multiple participating directory entries. Also each event can be associated with a venue (or parent event for festivals). All three data types can also have images and multimedia files associated with them.

Creating Search Engine Friendly Listings

The end result is a comprehensive searchable directory structure providing multiple search engine friendly paths to your data.  Sitekit CMS provides the following options for accessing the directory data.

  • An A to Z page of participants (ordered by town or surname or business name etc).
  • An A to Z page of location (ordered by town location/venue name etc).
  • A venue search.
  • An event search.
  • Calendars – Weekly, monthly or mini-calendars that click through to daily listings.
  • A ‘what’s on today’ listing.
  • Each of these items are fully filterable to be able to show all or part of the loaded data depending on preference.

Sitekit makes it easy for our non-technical staff to build-in usability and search engine optimisation to every page they create - whether it's a simple page of editorial, a rolling news module or registration form. The system is simple and intuitive to use and Sitekit offer great support.. - Ken Porter, Highlands and Islands Enterprise
