Version 8 is a major release of Sitekit CMS. In version 8, the Sitekit CMS Control Panel has been restyled to incorporate valuable feedback from customers and partners with the latest developments in browser based software usability. The new visual changes have improved the accessibiltiy, clarity and speed of the interface. Please follow this link for further information on version 8's visual changes.
In addition to these visual improvements, version 8.8 provides the following functional improvements.
- Image cropping – applied in the popup but the parameters can be applied to any image
- Copy branch option – First part of staging
- Image Gallery and admin system – see http://help.sitekit.net/Sitekit-SDK/16_Sitekit-Gallery-API-v1.pdf
- Storing of encrypted passwords – these are now one way hash codes
- Improved iTunes podcasting support
- Change to double click logic on text editing – can now double click on hyperlinks and still get to editor
- windows integrated authentication for admin (deployed only)
- Editorial Preview hide option reinstated for lower bandwidth users – can now cycle through the preview pane resizer and also switch it off.
- Tabular displays on forums, guestbooks and news – similar to forms
- Normal Guestbooks are now separated from Page Comments
- Soft check-in for templates – admin user will now get a warning if another user has a template open for editing
