Sitekit CMS Application Programming Interface - Subscription
Users can fulfil many roles within the Sitekit CMS. As well as administration responsibilities via the control panes they can also have no administration access but take the role of a site subscriber.
The Sitekit CMS subscription application programming interface (API) extends the existing functionality of the CMS to enable third party systems to programmatically add such user types to the system. Subscribers will get notified of page updates and can be used to better target web content. Typically the input for the subscription API is derived from a Sitekit CMS forms module allowing users to self register.
Typical Uses of Subscription API
The subscription API can be used as follows:
- Programmatic bulk user addition – A third party can use the API to programmatically perform a bulk update of their new users into the Sitekit CMS system.
- User self registration – A Sitekit CMS form is configured such that user inputs also are submitted to the API. Such submissions subscribe users to the site.
