Sitekit is organising ‘Future of Personal Health Records’ on 7th July at The King’s Fund in London. The event offers the opportunity to learn about some of the leading digital projects transforming health and care in the UK, and is attended by thought leaders and innovators at NHS England.

Empowering citizens through digital technology and raising our game on health technology  are central to the strategy set out in the Five Year Forward View to improve the health system’s efficiency.

The concept of the Personal Health Record (PHR) is seen by many clinical advocates as a key enabler of patient engagement especially for people managing long term conditions. With the widespread adoption of mobile devices, cloud services and apps, how can this technology be harnessed to empower patients and at the same time reduce costs for the NHS?

This one-day event, free for public sector delegates, consists of a series of presentations and four parallel work streams. We’ll discuss progress so far and collaborate on best practice for:

  • transforming how services are accessed with digital technology
  • understanding citizen and health professional attitudes towards online access to health records
  • enabling information sharing over, multiple locations, health and care through Personal Health Records
  • unlocking the benefits of digital transformation

Speakers include Tracey Watson, Head of Commercial and Partners, NHS England, and Dr David Low, Chair, Informatics for Quality, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

The four work streams are:

  • Microsoft - Health Service update
    Paul Thomas, Microsoft
    Marthinus Bester, Microsoft

  • DHACA (Digital Health and Care Alliance) - Taking patient-controlled records to scale
    Charles Lowe, DHACA

  • Sitekit - eRedbook Community Practice Group
    Dan Moulin, Sitekit
    Dr David Low, RCPCH
tbc, Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust
    Dr Jamie Hogg, NHS Grampian

  • R-Outcomes - Tracking Outcomes, Experience and Engagement across Health and Care
    Tim Benson, R-Outcomes
